You probably noticed that email has been broken on some of petites singularités fora, such as this one. The reason is that Gandi Mail started blocking our emails that seems to have reached their threshold limit, even for paying customers, which, in our sense is a bit abusive.
Last year their free email plan terminated and we had to pay about 800 € to keep everything working while we were devising a new solution. We do have a new solution, that has been active for some fora, such as TALER ICH which is working steadily.
But now, in the rush of September, Gandi Mail started to block our emails again, enforcing their neoliberal mindset – no, Gandi is not what it used to be, and is now looking for the bottom line. No bullshit no more.
So we’re going to change email settings that will break 93 existing email addresses used on this forum (yes, that’s probably more than what you expect from looking from outside) in order to resume onboarding and password resets that have been treated manually in the last week, but cannot be dealt with right now.
As Stalwart-mail is approaching v1.0 release, we’re confident our email setup will remain solid once we have removed the corporate intermediary. In the next couple of months we’ll remove all existing email from Gandi Mail and self-host instead.
So long Gandi, I loved you once, but you didn’t reciprocate.
