In South Sudan : The number of livestocks is almost thrice the number of people

South Sudan has a population of 11.1 million people according to a 2019 disputed UN statistics. With over 31 million head of cattle, sheep and goats, Sudan is the world leading nation when the animal wealth is calculated per capita.

The statistics revealed that there are more livestocks, almost thrice the number of humans in South Sudan.

Like many African countries with significant amount of wealth like oil, South Sudan continues to import most of it’s meat from neighbouring countries, losing millions of dollars every year.
