Egyptian authorities are detaining people who have peacefully come for walking they are detaining them forcefully.
Global March had done all the administrative protocols ahead of the march as demanded, they had contacted all the embassies.
European embassies need to support their residents participating to this peaceful march.
They were traveling to join the Global March to Gaza, a peaceful international effort calling for an end to the blockade and humanitarian crisis in Gaza. We urge the Egyptian authorities to release all detained individuals and allow the entrance of march participants, which is in line with Egypt’s own stated interest in seeing an end to the blockade and restoring stability at its border.
