I did not mean to be hurtful and I sincerely apologize for that. My intention (that I poorly stated and translated) was to say that a 10+ year-old project, written in php (both this language and its frameworks have greatly evolved in the last decade), will have an unavoidable technical debt, and it was one of the reasons we thought it wasn’t a good fit.
Once again, I can see now how insensitive and poorly stated my phrasing was, and it really wasn’t my intention, so I apologize, @marcel.
